Good to Know

Platform restrictions outside any integration tool's control

Voucher creation in Tally

Nventory does not create sales, purchase, or receipt vouchers in Tally. Order data is in Nventory's dashboard; voucher entries must be created in Tally separately.

GST return filing

Nventory syncs HSN codes and GST rates to Tally but does not file GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, or other returns. GST filing is done through Tally or a GST portal.

Tally runs on-premise

Tally must be running with Gateway Server or ODBC connector active. Nventory queues changes when Tally is offline and syncs when connectivity is restored.

WooCommerce tax plugins may not expose HSN data

WooCommerce GST plugins vary in how they store HSN codes. Nventory reads product data via REST API; custom GST plugins must expose HSN data through the API for sync to work.

Things to Consider

Platform-specific details and how they affect this integration.

Challenge

Indian WooCommerce stores typically use a GST plugin for tax calculations and HSN code storage. These plugins store GST data in different meta fields, and not all expose this data through WooCommerce REST API.

Nventory's Approach

Nventory supports common WooCommerce GST plugins and reads HSN/GST data from standard meta fields. For custom GST plugins, HSN codes can be mapped through Nventory's interface during setup and synced to Tally stock items.
