Good to Know

Platform restrictions outside any integration tool's control

Order sync from Facebook

Facebook Shop directs buyers to your online store to complete checkout. Orders are captured by your ecommerce platform, not by Meta. There are no Facebook-native orders to sync back.

Ad campaign management

Facebook Ads Manager is a separate platform. Ad creation, audience targeting, budgets, and performance metrics are outside the scope of Nventory's product feed integration.

Customer reviews and comments

Facebook product reviews and page comments are managed within Meta's ecosystem and are not accessible via the Catalog API.

Video and livestream commerce

Facebook Live Shopping and video content creation are handled within Facebook's native tools. Nventory syncs the product catalog but does not manage broadcast content.

Things to Consider

Platform-specific details and how they affect this integration.

Challenge

Facebook requires businesses to comply with its Commerce Policies before products appear in Facebook Shop. Certain categories (alcohol, supplements, weapons) are restricted or prohibited. Non-compliant products are rejected silently at the catalog level.

Nventory's Approach

Nventory flags products that fail Meta's catalog validation and surfaces rejection reasons in the sync dashboard so you can fix listings without digging through Meta Business Manager.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Facebook Shop directs buyers to your online store to complete checkout. Orders are captured in Shopify, not in Facebook. Nventory's integration is an outbound product feed that keeps your Facebook catalog accurate.

Yes. All three platforms share a single Meta Catalog. When you connect through Nventory, you can enable or disable each platform independently with per-channel visibility toggles.

Nventory syncs product and inventory changes within minutes of the event in Shopify. The integration is event-driven — changes trigger syncs automatically, not on a fixed schedule.

Nventory automatically updates the product's availability to 'out of stock' on Facebook Shop. You can also configure safety-stock buffers so products are marked unavailable before they hit zero.

Meta supports very large catalogs. Nventory processes up to 5,000 products per batch request. For stores with tens of thousands of SKUs, the initial sync is staggered to respect Meta's rate limits, with incremental updates running in near real-time afterward.

Yes. You need a Meta Business account with a product catalog. During setup, Nventory's OAuth flow connects to your Meta Business account and lets you select or create a catalog.
