Shopify Tally Integration
Nventory syncs products, variants, pricing, and inventory levels between Shopify and Tally ERP. Orders from Shopify are imported into Nventory's dashboard for centralized fulfillment management, while product and stock data stays aligned with Tally for GST-compliant accounting.

Good to Know
Platform restrictions outside any integration tool's control
Nventory does not create sales vouchers, purchase vouchers, or receipt vouchers in Tally. Order data is available in Nventory's dashboard but does not generate Tally voucher entries.
Nventory does not file GST returns. It syncs product data with HSN codes and GST rates to Tally, but GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and other returns must be filed through Tally or a GST portal.
Tally Prime and Tally ERP 9 run as on-premise desktop applications. Nventory connects via Tally's ODBC/XML interface or Tally Gateway Server. The Tally instance must be running and accessible for sync to work.
Nventory does not create or modify ledgers, groups, or cost centres in Tally. These must be set up in Tally before product sync can map to the correct stock groups and GST ledgers.
Things to Consider
Platform-specific details and how they affect this integration.
Every product sold in India requires an HSN (Harmonized System of Nomenclature) code and associated GST rate (5%, 12%, 18%, 28%). Tally requires these for GST-compliant voucher entries. Shopify does not natively track HSN codes, so products may lack this data.
Nventory allows mapping HSN codes and GST rates to Shopify products during the sync setup. These values are synced to Tally stock items so they are ready for voucher creation and GST return filing. Products without HSN codes are flagged during sync for manual review.
Who Uses Shopify Tally Integration
Common scenarios for connecting Shopify and Tally.
How It Works
Nventory sits between your platforms and keeps everything in sync.
Connect Shopify & Tally
Authenticate your Shopify store and configure Tally Gateway Server or ODBC connection. Nventory detects existing stock items and products in both systems.
Map Products, HSN Codes & Godowns
Nventory links Shopify products to Tally stock items by SKU. Map HSN codes, GST rates, and Shopify locations to Tally godowns. Review matches before enabling auto-sync.
Sync Products & Inventory
Product details and inventory quantities sync continuously between Shopify and Tally. New products in either system are created in the other through Nventory with correct GST attributes.
Manage Orders in Nventory
Shopify orders import into Nventory's centralized dashboard for fulfillment tracking. Stock levels in Tally update as Shopify sales are processed.

First verify that Tally is running and the Gateway Server or ODBC connector is active on the configured port. Check that the machine running Tally has internet connectivity and that firewall rules allow outbound connections. Review Nventory's sync logs for specific error messages — common issues include Tally license expiration, company file not loaded, or port conflicts with other applications on the same machine.
