Why Listing Compliance Matters

Non-compliant listings get suppressed, delisted, or penalised in search rankings before customers even see them. Catching issues in bulk before upload saves hours of manual review and prevents lost sales.

Common Violations

  • Title length overruns — Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Google all enforce hard character limits. Titles that exceed them are truncated or rejected outright.
  • Banned promotional phrases — Words like “best seller”, “#1”, “free shipping”, and “discount” violate Amazon title policy and trigger Google Shopping disapprovals.
  • ALL CAPS words — Shouting in titles is flagged by Amazon, Walmart, Etsy, and Google as a policy violation (accepted acronyms like USB, LED are whitelisted).
  • eBay keyword stuffing — Repeating the same keyword more than twice in an eBay title is treated as spam and can result in listing suppression.
  • HTML in Amazon titles and bullets — Any HTML tags in fields that do not support them are surfaced as raw text to customers, harming conversion.
